Osama Fahmy is a certified Green Building Professional; he has been handling a group of projects in the Arab Gulf Region with Projacs during the past few years and leading the company’s green building team. During his 20 years of extensive design and management experience, in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, He always kept an eye on sustainable design. He has completed a number of successful Eco Friendly and cost effective building and urban development projects.

Mr. Bataoel is President of ABOVE Green, LLC. He is responsible for LEED Certification consulting, LEED training program implementation, and management of relationships with top-level decision-makers in the United States, the Caribbean, and the Middle East. Mr. Bataoel is an expert on the green building systems of the world, he has familiarity with the principals of secure building design, and he has served as the senior environmental consultant on over a dozen new construction projects.

3. Martin Hay

GHD
Martin Hay is Architectural Manager for GHD Qatar and sits on the GHD Sustainability Advisory Group, responsible for the implementation of sustainable strategies within GHD. Martin is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects, has a Masters Degree in Environmental Design and Engineering from University College London and is a QSAS Certified Green Professional. He is involved on behalf of GHD with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and is a regular speaker at conferences on Green Buildings and Sustainability.

GHD is one of Qatar’s largest consulting firms, offering a range of services from urban development, architecture, engineering and interior design to water and wastewater treatment, landscape architecture, environmental services, traffic engineering and transportation services.
GHD established a presence in the state of Qatar in January 2000, and has continually expanded its presence in the city of Doha. Staff numbers have now increased to more than 300 in Qatar alone, and 500 in the Middle East as a whole.

Dean Thompson is a professional architect by training, living and working in the Middle East since 2003. He specialised in Healthcare Design in Southern Africa before moving his family to the Middle East. Prior to his appointment as Director -Middle East for the property business group arm of Halcrow, Dean was an associate partner with Godwin Austen Johnson in the UAE. A pragmatist by nature, he favours the reward of positive environmental behaviours rather than the punishment of poor ones. Dean is a family man with three young sons who are a daily reminder that what we do today will determine how they live tomorrow.

“Gordon is the Resident Director in Qatar with a responsibility for Business Development in the Northern Gulf Area.
An architect by profession, he has over 25 years experience in design, having spent his former professional years in private practice involved in a variety of residential, commercial and industrial projects. Since joining Atkins in 1994 Gordon was closely involved in the formation and development of the Architectural design business in Scotland.
During this time he helped expand the business working on Multi-discipline Healthcare, Education and Transportation projects. He set up and developed a business stream in Client Advisory services providing Due Diligence Technical advice to Financial Institutions. He came to the Middle East in 2006 to be Project Director for the Master Plan to replace the township of Ahmadi in Kuwait and subsequently moved to Qatar in 2007, becoming Resident Director in 2008. He is an enthusiast about the challenges of working in the Middle East and has a passion about Low Carbon Design.”
